Renowned Research seismologist Walter Reid has always been passionate about planet Earth and all that it encompasses. He researches the internal structure of the Earth and tries to determine factors that contribute to or foretell an earthquake. For years, he has been invested in his work, so much so that his wife begins to grow distant. Attempting to bridge the gap, he decides to take them on a family trip.Trouble ensues when an earthquake of shocking magnitudes rocks their world to the literal core. Walter has never seen anything like this before, and that is a cause of fear and concern.
